The Orioles are shaking things up. Frank Robinson Jersey Baltimore manager Brandon Hyde was fired by the club after a disastrous start to the 2025 season, the team announced Saturday. Hyde had been the Orioles manager for six-plus seasons. As the head of baseball operations, the poor start to our season is ultimately my responsibility, Orioles executive vice president and general manager Mike Elias said in a statement. Part of that responsibility is pursuing difficult changes in order to set a different course for the future. I want to thank Brandon for his hard work, dedication, and pa sion all these years, and for returning the team to the playoffs and winning an AL East Championship. His many positive contributions to this organization and to Baltimore will remain, and we wish he and his family the best. Explore More Hyde was hired before the 2019 season to oversee Baltimores long rebuild. The Orioles lost 100-plus games in two straight full seasons before enjoying their first winning season since 2016 in 2022. Two seasons ago, Hyde won the American League manager of the year award after leading the Orioles to 101 wins and an American League East division title. Now, the Orioles have been perhaps the most disappointing team in baseball this season, going 15-28 and sitting in last place in the AL East after making the postseason in each of the past two seasons. However, as is sometimes the case in baseball, change becomes nece sary, and we believe this is one of those moments. The Orioles organization is truly appreciative of everything Brandon has contributed during his tenure, and we wish him nothing but succe s in whatever path he chooses next in the world of baseball.
